Class Parent Volunteer ApplicationFill Out Blank PDF
Thank you for your interest in volunteering as a Class Parent! Class Parents help strengthen the connection between families, teachers, and the school community. They assist with classroom activities, celebrations, communication, and other needs throughout the school year.
Please complete this application if you would like to be considered for a Class Parent volunteer position.
Class Parent volunteers are expected to:
Be an active Demo Elementary School PTO member. Maintain current PTO membership, including any applicable dues, and make a reasonable effort to attend PTO meetings throughout the school year.
Participate beyond the classroom. Volunteer for school or PTO events when possible, including helping during an event or assisting with setup and cleanup.
Help with classroom activities and trips. Class Parents may be asked to assist with class celebrations, special activities, or field trips when opportunities are available. Please keep in mind that chaperoning field trips should not be the primary reason for applying.
Work as a team. When more than one Class Parent is assigned to a classroom, volunteers should communicate and make decisions together. Responsibilities should be shared fairly, including planning, purchases, communication, and attendance at classroom activities.
Support the teacher. Follow the teacher's preferences and classroom needs. The role of a Class Parent is to assist, coordinate, and make things easier for the classroom, not to create additional work for the teacher.
Communicate respectfully. Class Parents may interact with many families throughout the year. Please be welcoming, respectful, inclusive, and mindful of family and student privacy.
Be dependable. If you agree to organize or attend an activity, please follow through or communicate promptly if your availability changes.
Being a Class Parent is about more than attending classroom parties. It is an opportunity to volunteer, help your teacher, connect families, and contribute positively to your school community.
