DMCA, Media & Trademark Policy

Effective Date: August 19, 2025

PTOMoms.com supports creativity, collaboration, and community. We also respect intellectual property rights — and we expect our users to do the same. This policy explains how we handle copyright (DMCA) and trademark complaints, and clarifies our “Unofficial Listings” approach for schools.

1. User-Generated Content

Users of PTOMoms.com (including parents, teachers, and PTO leaders) may upload content such as images, documents, fundraiser materials, and school logos. By uploading any content, you represent that:

  • You own the rights to it, or
  • You have permission or a license to use it.

Do not upload content you don’t have the legal right to use (including copyrighted images, product photos from other websites, or school logos/mascots without approval).

2. Reporting Copyright Infringement (DMCA Takedown)

If you believe that something posted on PTOMoms.com violates your copyright, submit a formal DMCA notice including:

  • Your full name and contact information
  • A clear description of the copyrighted work
  • The exact URL of the allegedly infringing content
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that your complaint is accurate
  • Your physical or electronic signature

Send your DMCA notice to:
DMCA Agent
Email: legal@ptomoms.com

We may request additional information and will review all complaints promptly.

3. What Happens Next?

  • We may remove or disable the content
  • We may notify the user who posted it
  • We may share your notice with the poster or legal authorities if necessary

4. Counter-Notice (If You Believe It Was a Mistake)

If you’re a user and believe content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice that includes:

  • Your contact information
  • The URL of the content that was removed
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe the removal was a mistake
  • A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of your local U.S. Federal District Court
  • Your physical or electronic signature

Email your counter-notice to: legal@ptomoms.com
If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the content unless the original complainant files a lawsuit within 10–14 business days.

5. Repeat Infringers

Accounts that receive multiple valid DMCA complaints may be suspended or permanently banned. We take copyright violations seriously to protect both creators and the community.

6. School Logos & Branding

If you’re using a school logo, mascot, or brand on your page or fundraiser, make sure you have permission from the school or PTO. We are not responsible for unauthorized use of school branding. Always play it safe and get approval first.

7. Questions or Concerns?

Not sure if something you want to upload is okay? Have a copyright concern? Reach out anytime at support@ptomoms.com.

8. Trademark Complaints

If you believe your school name, logo, or other trademark is being misused on PTOMoms.com, email a complaint to legal@ptomoms.com including:

  • Your full name and contact information
  • The trademarked name/logo and registration number (if available)
  • The exact URL of the allegedly infringing content
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized
  • Your physical or electronic signature

We review trademark complaints promptly and may remove or restrict content while we investigate.

9. Unofficial School Listings

PTOMoms.com provides school directory pages as a community resource. Unless marked as “Claimed” or “Verified,” these pages are unofficial community listings. PTOMoms.com is not affiliated with or endorsed by any school unless explicitly stated.

Disclosure we surface on unclaimed pages:
“School names are used for identification only. PTO Moms is an independent parent-run platform and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any school unless claimed.”
