Effective Date: August 19, 2025
Your privacy matters to us at PTOMoms.com. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how we keep it safe. By using our site, you agree to the practices described here.
1. What We Collect
We collect some information when you use PTOMoms — most of it is pretty standard:
- Account info: Name, email address, password, and optional school/role (e.g. parent, teacher, PTO).
- Profile info: You may optionally add photos, bios, school name, grade level, or links.
- Activity data: Things you post, upload, comment on, or share (e.g., supply lists, fundraisers).
- Device info: IP address, browser type, and cookies (for site functionality and security).
- Third-party logins: If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive basic profile details.
2. How We Use It
We use your data to keep the site running smoothly, make your experience better, and support school-friendly features. Specifically:
- To create and manage your account
- To personalize your experience (e.g., showing nearby schools or saved lists)
- To provide support, send notifications, or respond to questions
- To improve the platform through analytics and feedback
- To prevent abuse, fraud, or spam
We don’t sell your personal data. Ever. Not even to those annoying robocall people.
3. Cookies & Tracking
Like most websites, we use cookies to remember your preferences and keep you logged in. We may also use tools like Google Analytics to understand how the site is being used — but that data is anonymized and used only to improve the site.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not work properly without them (like staying logged in).
4. Sharing of Data
We may share limited data only when necessary:
- With your permission: (e.g., if you link your account to Amazon or share a fundraiser)
- With service providers: Who help us run the platform (e.g., hosting, email tools). They’re bound by confidentiality.
- If required by law: Such as a valid legal request from law enforcement.
We do not share your personal info with advertisers. If that changes, we’ll ask for your permission first.
5. Children’s Privacy
PTOMoms is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents and schools are responsible for the content they submit or display. If you believe a child’s information has been submitted improperly, contact us and we’ll address it promptly.
6. Data Security
We take security seriously. We use industry-standard measures (SSL encryption, password hashing, access controls) to protect your information. No system is perfect, but we do everything we can to keep your data safe.
7. Your Choices
You’re in control. You can:
- Edit or delete your profile anytime
- Request a full export or deletion of your data (just email us)
- Adjust email preferences in your account settings
If you delete your account, most of your data will be removed. Some may be kept for legal or security reasons (e.g., logs or fundraiser records).
8. External Links
Our site may link to third-party sites (Amazon, Printify, PayPal, etc.). We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review their policies if you use those services.
9. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll post a notice on the site or notify you via email. The latest version will always be available at ptomoms.com/privacy.
